ABOUT BANK EXAM


IBPS: institute of banking personnel selection
There is a common entrance test conducted for the selection of clerks for all the banks (except SBI) – IBPS. IBPS conducts this test which is known as cwe:  common written examination. For selection of clerical cadre vacancies in the public sector banks. This is conducted once in a year in two stages – cwe & common interviews. The candidates have to apply through online application mode from IBPS website (www.IBPS.in).

1). IBPS clerical cadres
Introduction: The tests (except the test of english language) are available bilingual. The candidates who have cleared the written examination will go through the second stage – common interview. The marks allotted are 100. The minimum qualifying marks in interview will be not less than 40% (35% for sc/st/obc/pwd/exsm candidates). The weightage ratio of cwe (exam) and interview is 80:20.
Candidates, qualifying both the stages will be listed in order of merit and depending on the available state / ut wise vacancies, will be allotted to one of the participating organizations, keeping in view the spirit of govt. Guidelines on reservation policy, administrative convenience, etc.
Eligibility criteria:
Age limit: the minimum age limit is 20 years and maximum 28 years
Educational qualification:  degree (graduation) in any discipline from recognized university
Computer literacy: operating and working knowledge in computer system is mandatory, i.e. candidate should have a degree / diploma / certificate

2). IBPS : probationary officer (PO) / Management Trainee
Introduction: The exams are conducted online for the recruitment of probationary officers / management trainee in public sector banks.
Eligibility criteria:
Age limit: the minimum age limit is 20 years and maximum 30 years
Educational qualification:  degree (graduation) in any discipline from recognized university
Computer literacy:  computer knowledge is not mandatory

3). IBPS specialist officers:
Introduction:  IBPS conducts cwe for recruitment of specialist officers in various cadres like, it, technical, agriculture, legal, marketing, hr, etc. The test for so is conducted twice a year by ibbps. The test can be conducted online or offline.  All the tests are objectives and can be answered in bilingual language (except for english language). The successfully qualified candidate is provided with a cwe scorecard, which is valid for one year from the date of issue of the scorecard.
Eligibility criteria:
Age limit: For Officers scale i              between 20 – 35 year
                  For Officers scale ii              between 21– 40 year
Educational qualification for:
IT officer(scale i & ii): Degree in any discipline with doeac ‘b’ level certification
Agricultural field officer: degree in agriculture
Rajbhasha adhikari: pg degree n hindi and english as a subject
Law officers: bachelor degree in law
Technical officers: engineering degree
Hr officer: degree in any discipline with pg degree or diploma in personnel management / industrial relationship / hrd / social work or labor law

4). IBPS: RRB – regional rural banks
RRB officer scale i, ii & iii
Introduction: IBPS conducts online CWE for recruitment regional rural banks.
Eligibility criteria
Age limit: ‘candidates’ age must be between:
   Scale i         18 years – 28 years
Scale ii        21 years – 32 years
Scale iii       21 years – 40 years
Educational qualification
Scale i: Graduation in any discipline and must be proficient in local language
Scale ii -(general banking officer): Graduation in any discipline with at least 50% marks with 2 years experience
Scale ii-(specialist officer): Degree from recognized university (it, ca, mba fin/marketing, law & agriculture – as per the profile)
Note – at least 50 % marks is required for it, agricultural & law officer.
Scale ii (officer): Graduation in any discipline with at least 50% marks with minimum 5 years of experience as an officer in a bank or a financial institutions.

SBI: clerical cadre
Introduction: The selection process consists of written test and personal interview. Candidates who qualify in written test would be called for interview on 1:3 ratio based on vacancies. Final selection would be made on the basis of performance of candidates in both written examination and personal interview talent together.
Eligibility criteria:
Age limit: candidates must be between 18 and 28 years.
Educational qualification: candidates must have passed 12th standard with 60% marks for general and 55% marks for sc/st/exsm/pwd or must possess a graduate degree from recognized university.

Introduction: State bank of india conducts its probationary officer exams for eligible candidates. The selection process consist of two phases written test and group discussion / interview
Eligibility criteria:
Age limit: minimum 20 and maximum 30 years
Educational qualification: the applicant should be graduate with a minimum requisite of 65% of average marks
